Last week, we had a TON of fun down here in first grade! We were super busy wrapping up making predictions in Reading. Be sure to practice this at home with your child. We also learned how to make iMovies in our Recording Booth during Daily 5 time. This is a tool we'll be utilizing each week to reinforce our reading standards. The students will begin creating i-Movies this week, with their first one focused on predictions. If you have an i-pad at home, let your child practice making an i-Movie. I think you'll be quite impressed! In Writing, we celebrated BIG by having our first Author's Celebration. Thank you to our parents for making it such a fun experience for us by sending in wonderful snacks and treats for our class to enjoy. You are the best! We wrapped up our Weather Unit and concluded by letting our Junior Meteorologist tape a weather forecast.

It is first grade expectation that the student shave mastered these words. Next week, we will begin the First Grade Red Word List. Please practice any of the circled words with your child at home. Make it fun by using a white board, shaving cream, food item, or a white board/paint app on your i-pad. to practice. Even try making it a family game!
-You will also see your child's Writing Work coming home by the end of the week. There are 2 grades tied with our first bend.
