We are loving the fall weather! I hope you all enjoyed the beautiful weather this weekend and got to enjoy some fun fall activities!
A few reminders:
-Don't forget to send your child in with a coat for the cool, crisp mornings. Please help us by writing your child's name on ALL coats and fall/winter accessories. Sometimes our first grade friends have a tough time remembering what actually belongs to them! And it's nearly impossible for us to remember for 22 kiddos! :)
-This is the time of year, where our kiddos get their hands on lots of sweet treats. please remember that we encourage healthy snacks and do not allow candy at snack time.
Class/School Events:
-This week you will begin to see Book Bags coming home. Please read the book several times to help build fluency (smooth reading with expressions). Talk about the book with your child. Then, be sure to return the Book Bag back to school within a few days. It's very important to take care of these books and return them back to us since these are precious to our guided reading groups!
-In order to have a secure testing environment, our school has requested NO visitors this week. This includes lunch visitors too! We look forward to seeing you back again next week!
-Report Cards and Progress Skills Checklist go home today, October 19th. Please look these over, sign and return the envelope. All the forms inside are for you to keep!
-Our school is collecting peanut butter for the needy. I brought in a jar of peanut butter today and discussed the peanut butter drive with our class. If you have a chance, send in a jar of peanut butter to donate. We made a goal of 15 jars!
-Our PTA through Operation Helping Hands is also collecting gently used coats, hats, and gloves to be placed in the bins outside the media center. These items will be donated to North Fulton charities.
For content related reminders, please be sure to check out our grade-level blog. This is really important to check each week, since it is where you will find study guide/test dates, phonics and Red Words for the week, and also suggested homework activities! Click here or on the tab to the right to jump right over!
Peace, Love, and Learning!
