Welcome back NP family,
I am writing the blog with a heavy heart this week. It has been a tough few days to learn of the passing of our beloved principal, Mary Robson. She was a shining light here at NP, as she led our students, staff, and families in a positive way and established a rich culture for all. I know we will need each other to lean on in the coming days. Please do not hesitate to reach out and please let me or the school know if your child is experiencing signs of grief. Together we will get through this and carry on just like Mary would have wanted. My heart is heavy, but also grateful for such a strong community and family to lean on during these rough days. Thank you for all you do for our school and community.
Events/ Reminders:
-We will visit the book fair preview on Monday. Look for a list of books your child is interested in.
-Our book fair buy will be on Wednesday, May 17th from 9:00-9:30. Join us there if you'd like!
-Spring Showcase has been rescheduled to Thursday, May 18th from 5:30-7:30. Hope to see you there!
-Fulton County summer reading suggestions are here! Click http://fcssummerreading.weebly.com/
-Beat The Summer Slide!!! Please, please encourage your child to read this summer. Make it fun by creating a tic tac toe board or reading menu. When they complete a specific number of minutes if books, give them a reward. Mix it up a little, by reading in different places in your house or even outside under a shady tree. Also, visit the public library!! The first grade team will also be sending home a reading log and book suggestions. This is a great way to keep your child reading ovef the summer. I cannot stress enough how important this is.
-Field Day Monday, May 15th (Rain day Tuesday the 16th) Please have your child wear their blue field day t-shirt. Also, please apply sunscreen and bug spray PRIOR to school. We cannot apply at school and we will be outside for most of the day!
Peace, Love, and Learning!
